The school was established in 1957 with 11 classrooms and five 5 educators. Presently the principal of the school is Mrs. L.M.M Mvelo. There are 24 classrooms, one computer lab with twenty five computers with Internet connection and one library.
There are 33 staff members.
Presently the school is offering isiXhosa and isiZulu as home languages and English as the first additional language.
The school is accommodating learners from disadvantaged communities which are mostly from informal settlements and unemployed parents who are predominantly from rural areas in and outside the country.
